The all-new ZL402 Gen IV LS2-based aluminum short block builds on the phenomenal success of slp's original ZL402 iron short-block. This new package uses the same race proven internals as its iron block predecessor but features the all-new LS2 block for weight savings of over 100 pounds. Slp even increased the compression ratio to 11:1 (nominal) - the same as GM's new 500-horse LS7! Although designed primarily for use in late-model F-Bodies, Corvettes and GTOs, the aluminum ZL402 also makes a great choice for most street rods, muscle-cars and trucks. Best of all, it's sold outright, eliminating the shipping hassles and expenses of core returns.
You won't find a higher quality, better value LS2 stroker short block anywhere!
This package is sold only in short-block form, minus manifolds, camshaft, oil pump, and other equipment. The advantage of this approach is it allows you to pick a combination best for you. SLP also sells cylinder heads and camshaft packages, and we'd be happy to recommend the best combination for you.
NOTE: While placing your order, please specify model year that the 402 will be installed in, and what style reluctor wheel is required. SLP's harmonic balancer/under-drive pulley is required for proper installation (or an equivalent pulley that is properly keyed) a stock balancer/pulley will NOT fit.
